July – September 2008: Six weeks work experience at Weekendavisen (Danish National newspaper)
• Based on the book section but wrote articles and did interviews in all areas.

April-May 2008: Assistant to Ulla Terkelsen, London Correspondent for Danish national televison (TV2)
• Research and editing

March – May 2008: Assistant to the Communication Manager at United World College International Office (UWCIO)
• Wrote nibs for the magazine United World and the webpage.

January 2008: Two articles for Times Online

August 2007: Two travel features with photos for a Finnish magazine, Elevbladet

November 2005 – January 2006: Wrote travel diaries for my local newspaper
• Four features with photos were published during my first gap year.

November 2005 – December 2005: Volunteer work in a refugee camp in Western Sahara
• Worked with POLISARIO as an English teacher in Laayoune refugee camp in south-western Algeria. I lived and taught there for two months and started up the project together with two other graduates from my school.

August 2003 – 2005: Photographer for a leirskule.no webpage
At my high school in Norway we were in charge of a camp school for Norwegian kids in primary and secondary school. I took photos of the different activities with every school and then published them on the internet.

August 2002 – 2003: Editor of my high school magazine, Haslev Gymnasium Magazine
• Responsible for layout, features and taking on student writers for six issues.

Education:

2008  Second year of joint BA in Journalism and Contemporary History at City University and Queen Mary, University of London. Regular practice in news and other writing, researching and finding stories

2003 – 2005: International Baccalaureate at Red Cross Nordic United World College in Norway (31 points, higher level philosophy, history and English).

Paid work:
Receptionist onboard M/s Pearl of Scandinavia (2006 – September 2007), deckhand in the Caribbean and across the Atlantic (Nov. 2005 – Jan. 2006), waiter at various restaurants and postman. At present student ambassador at City University.

Skills:
Fully proficient in Word and PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of Photoshop.
English and Danish, fluent, good understanding of Norwegian and Swedish.

Interests:
I have backpacked extensively in the Middle East and South America.
Summer 2005– six weeks in Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Jordan, partly staying with friends and self-financed from savings and working the years before.
January 2006-  three months from Venezuela down to Argentina also staying with at friends’ houses, which made me understand the culture much better.
I am also very interested in reading, especially the Beat period.
I have been active as a scout for 10 years and active in local  and national politics from 2000 to 2003, especially with a focus on EU politics. I was the chairman for the Danish Social democrats Youth in my town.
